Chicago, IL – April 15, 2016 Brush off your platform shoes and Hustle on down to the Zhou B Art Center for FREAK OUT! Chicago, an exhibition curated by Didi Menendez and Sergio Gomez.

FREAK OUT! Chicago is an exhibition of the arts expressing the boldness, liberation, individuality, coming of age and decadence of the Disco era. The works will include visual arts in various mediums and styles including poetry, video, sculpture, and performance. The exhibition will take place in the 13,000 sf second floor gallery of the Zhou B Art Center.

For this exhibition, Didi Menendez (PoetsArtists Magazine) and Sergio Gomez (Zhou B Art Center Curator) will collaborate to bring together a careful selection of talented artists celebrating the spirit of the Disco era. Through this exhibition, curators Menendez and Gomez will bring a unique celebratory experience to Chicago. There will be a disco ball!

About the Zhou B Art Center 
The Zhou B Art Center is a private art center designed to facilitate the exchange of dialogue and contemporary art between Chicago and the international art community. The 87,000 sq.ft. center offers many possibilities for exploring the arts in a charismatic location and collectively form an intriguing art center fusing culture and creativity. The Zhou B Art Center was founded in 2004 by the world renowned artists, the Zhou Brothers. ZBAC is now home to two exhibition spaces, Center Line Cafe, Zhou B Art Store, several galleries, and 60 artist studios. Sergio Gomez is a Chicago-based visual artist and creative entrepreneur. He is owner and Director of 33 Contemporary Gallery, Director of Exhibitions at the Zhou B. Art Center, founder of VisualArtToday.com and Amplified Art Network, Creative Consultant for Idea Seat Marketing & Advertising, Contributor for Italia Arte Magazine, and curator and producer of the National Wet Paint MFA Biennial. In 2014, Sergio co-founded the program Art NXT Level to help artists manage thier careers.
